The Archive Collection

Over the years, the Society has acquired many historic documents and artefacts. The collection includes :

• photographs and slides of the Frodsham area dating from the late 1800s, 
• documents and information from the 1300s, 
• books, 
• maps, 
• posters, 
• artefacts 
• journals 

These are all stored in the Society’s Archives in Castle Park House.  

A typed index to these documents (called the Archive List) is updated by the Society’s Archivist, Mrs Gill Baxter.  You will find public copies of the Archive List at Reception in Castle Park House and in Frodsham Library. You can also find the list online at :

In May 2020 the Society obtained a grant from the Marshes Community Benefit Fund for an Archives Modernisation Project. Through the project, Society volunteers will work closely with the Cheshire Record Office to make the Archives accessible through the Cheshire Archives and Local Studies online database.
